Was asked how I grew the agency to bid on $150,000 websites.

growing a marketing agency

Answer? Confidence in deliverable.

I never accepted bidding/RFP opportunities that were beyond what I could CONFIDENTLY deliver with my team.

Sure, bigger proposals sounded nice. But not at the expense of my hard earned reputation.

Even if you get a big project at, say, $50,000 vs your usual $5k website, you’re playing a different game.

  • Deliverables are different.
  • Expectations are different.

And once you burn it down out of greed, you’re now self-guilted into a permanent $5-10k corner.

Instead, inch your rates higher as you can confidently increase your deliverables and results.

Instead of jumping $5k > $50k, though it sounds nice, it’s a lot more sustainable to go $5k > $10k > $15k > $25k > $35k > $50k… AND STAY THERE as a result of building efficiencies along the way.
