A friend just found a comment I made on a marketing blog where I called out the value of video marketing back in 2015.
This comment was made before TikTok, which came out in 2016 but didn’t go global until merging with Musical·ly in 2018.
Instagram Reels came out in 2019.
Youtube Shorts came out in 2020.
Marketers that don’t disappear with the trends are the ones calling them before they happen.
But watch out for bandwagon marketers that are always hyping up the “next thing,” when it’s already gained momentum. They’re just in it to ride the wave, and your checkbook.
