This month, my wife and I have been married for 13 years. We celebrated in Hawaii. Yes, we took the kids. They’re our little buddies and we take them everywhere.
We returned home last night and landed at 1am this morning and went to bed at about 2am. After 10 hours of flying and layover, we slept in and woke up around 10am to a knock at the door. I had ordered flowers weeks ago to be delivered the morning we returned. The flowers read, “13 different flowers for 13 different years. Together, they’re perfect.”
That’s when my son came into my bedroom and gave me a hug. He said he’s glad I’m his dad and that me and his mom do special things for each other. I never expected to get a “thank you” from my kid for giving his mom flowers.
Kids are always watching. Show them what love looks like.
