I recently raised our contract rates from $200 to $1000 hour…

It reads, “Work beyond scope will be billed at a standard $1000/hour. Customer is to provide all logins and credentials required by Company to maintain forward momentum. Time spent collecting logins, testing access, or any ‘busy work’ that is outside of the scope of the main tasks at hand will be billed at $1000 per hour.”

Even if someone is paying you, they shouldn’t waste your time with busy work.

First recipient of new contract replied…

“A few times in the proposal it states that any work outside the scope of the proposal will be $1000 per hour. I am guessing that this is there to cover any ‘repeatedly lazy’ questions from clients.”

Action takers aren’t scared and see it for what it is; a quality filter.

The goal with this update isn’t to make more money, but to make more time by scaring away time wasting activities.

When someone interrupts your scheduled agenda for the day, even paid for, there’s a lost opportunity cost.

That time could have been spent working on things you had planned working on, laying the foundation for bigger projects or more productive future results.

Value your time.
