I’ve been doing the same thing in entrepreneurship for approaching 19 years. And I think about two things often.

1 ) Do I still love SEO?

Yes.

SEO is consistent enough that I know what I’m walking into each day. But ever changing enough to keep it exciting and interesting.

Add in AI and optimizing for it is just the same fundamental as SEO, and I have another 20 years ahead I could have fun with.

2 ) Why am I still consistently at the top?

It’s partly what I don’t do. I don’t get distracted by shortcuts and loopholes… usually a marketer’s dream.

What’s new? What’s shiny? What can AI shortcut for me?

Instead, it’s daily reps of the fundamentals.

I’ll summarize those fundamentals. And I’ll do it unspecific to SEO so anyone can win, no matter your area of expertise.  Actually, Arnold summarized it best…

“I don’t follow trends. I outlast them.

They have been selling shortcuts since before I learned how to benchpress.

I’ve seen thousands and thousands of the next big thing.

Fads explode. Hype sells.

Real progress doesn’t trend. It endures.

One rep at a time.

One day at a time.

Again.

And, again.

It’s not about the hype. It’s about your commitment to quality.

You want results? Stop chasing the new. And start trusting the proven.

Be trend proof.”

Now, re-read everything he said above and other than the word “benchpress,” all of it is universally applicable to you, and any industry.

It’s not about the hype. It’s about your commitment to quality.

You want results? Stop chasing the new. And start trusting the proven.

One rep at a time.

One day at a time.

Again.

And, again.
