There are only 3 reasons you aren’t getting more referrals from your friends and network:

  1. You’re not good enough
  2. You’re not loud enough
  3. You’re not clear enough

Let’s address all three.

You’re not good enough

When I made a post about intro’ing friends to a good merchant accounting contact, do you know how many other people hit me up that they offer merchanting? A lot.

You’re not the best.

Know how I know?  Because everyone and their dog is a merchant provider, but the reality is there’s only like three major actual merchant providers. Everyone else is a reseller.

And know how hard it is to become a reseller? Zero-hard.  Do a Google search and throw a dart on a website, apply, and in 10 minutes, you too are a “merchant provider.”

“But, Damon. I really am the best.”

Okay, we’ll play that game. Your next problem is…

You’re not loud enough.

Do your friends and family even know you offer what you offer?

Do you post results?

Do you show wins?

Do you evangelize your team?

Do you even have a team?

You’re not clear enough.

Ok, so you’re the best and you’re loud. But are you clear?

Do you offer merchanting… and web design… and paid ads… and funnel design… and copywriting?

You offer it all and are trusted for none of it.

Pick one thing.  Become the best at it.  Become known for it.

The rest takes care of itself.
