Less than two weeks ago a hurt man on the internet called me a “piece of shit dad.”

I angered the keyboard warrior gods, because I posted on social media that I wouldn’t just give my kid a few extra hundred dollars that he wanted for a new e-bike?  An e-bike when he already had a perfectly good one?  And he also had a pocket bike?  Both of those he also saved up for on his own?

How I posted, other than birthdays and holidays, I give my kids what they need, not what they want.  And 95% of the replies were positive, and 5% cried like they witnessed a crime?  The other 5% told me I’m not teaching him anything.

That to teach abundance you just… give it to them. WTF?

No.  To learn abundance you have to experience pursuing and achieving it.

Guess who just came to me with money to buy his bike? This piece of shit dad’s amazing son.  This cool ass kid that took a shoe box and turned it into a cash register.

son

I didn’t even know he had this box going on.  Zoom in… “$52 a week = 14 weeks for $728.”

I knew he was saving. But, this box hit me in the feels how proud of him I was.  My son was.going.to.make.this.happen.

Not only did he learn savings, again.

He learned problem solving.  He learned determination.  He learned committing.  He earned reward.

Keyboard warrior = 0

Proud dad = ∞ 🏆
