I posted a $10,000 bet nearly 2 years ago that in 5 years Google would still be the most used search engine.

Everyone jumped on the “Google is dead” hype train when ChatGPT launched. 🥱
But here’s why I’m right and everyone else is wrong…
Google owns the index, the data, the distribution, and the user intent signals that no LLM startup can replicate in aggregate.
- They have your search history.
- They have your video and content preferences.
- They have your movement patterns and maps data.
- They have your phone, your text messages, and your network.
They have your travels plans, itineraries, and knowledge of your friends and network through Gmail and your calendar.
And just a few hours ago, Alphabet announced an $80 billion stock raise to fund their AI infrastructure. Berkshire Hathaway is backing them for $10,000,000,000 of it, confirming that Google will do everything to stay the default.
For SEOs, the lesson is the same I’ve been sharing for two decades…
- Build your websites with proper structure.
- Layer in continued, unique, value-added content.
- And go on a PR blitz, showcase your authority, and earn external mentions.
As long as people search, which will be until infinity, SEO will never die.
Bullish on Google.
Still.
